Ninth Grade Academy (NGA)

Freshman Academy helps students make a smooth transition to high school by providing an environment that allows freshmen to feel valued and comfortable. The core academic courses are English, Math, Social Studies, and Science.

In addition to core courses, NGA students may request electives in World Language, Computer Science, Physical Education, JROTC and Visual or Performing Arts.

Middle Years Program (MYP)
The MYP is flexible enough to accommodate most national or local curriculum requirements. It builds upon the knowledge, skills and attitudes developed in the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and prepares students to meet the academic challenges of the IB Diploma Programme (DP).

The IB Middle Years Programme, for students aged 11 to 16, provides a framework of academic challenge that encourages students to embrace and understand the connections between traditional subjects and the real world, and become critical and reflective thinkers. The MYP emphasizes intellectual challenge, encouraging students to make connections between their studies in traditional subjects and the real world. It fosters the development of skills for communication, intercultural understanding and global engagement - essential qualities for young people who are becoming global leaders. More information available at International Baccalaureate Organization or contact the MYP Coordinator at

International Baccalaureate (IB)
The IB Diploma Programme is a prestigious international program that offers rigorous coursework. Students may elect to pursue the highly regarded IB Diploma or simply pursue IB Certificates in selected courses. Students within the programme of study have the opportunity of earning college credit for students obtaining a high exam score. Advanced Placement (AP) is a program in the United States and Canada, created by the College Board, which offers college-level curricula and examinations to high school students. American colleges and universities often grant placement and course credit to students who obtain high scores on the examinations. The AP curriculum for each of the various subjects is created for the College Board by a panel of experts and college-level educators in that field of study.
